Your Google update reminder
Recently, we published an article on the brand new Google rule for mobile web browsing and mobile websites. The new update advised us that Google would give mobile friendly websites priority in organic search results, and would penalise non-mobile friendly websites. You can see the full article here, if this is news to you.
Since the article was published the new rules are now in full effect. If your website isn’t optimised for mobile use, you could already be seeing an impact on the website stats in Google analytics, and you may experience a drop in visitors and pageviews, especially where Google referrals are concerned. So, what can you do about this?
Essentially, to ensure your Google rankings are not effected you need either a mobile website or a responsive website. Responsively designed websites will adapt to the screen size of the device your page is being viewed on; making it an effective way to ensure your website looks good when viewed on any device.
