Meet our newest team member - Imran
Hello, I’m Imran, and I’m very pleased to say I’ve just joined MAXX as a Junior Account Manager.
My first day at MAXX felt very surreal. Even though it was the middle of March, I trudged my way through a winter wonderland to get to the super-cool offices as it had decided to snow! Despite the icy weather, the reception I received from all of the people at MAXX couldn’t have been any warmer. As I walked up the pantone colour themed staircase heading for my desk, I found myself staring at a blackboard-instead-of-a-wall-wall with “Welcome Imran” chalked in big letters. Lovely gestures like this made me feel very welcome, and very lucky to be part of the team.
I came out of university grasping a Law degree, but decided the gavel wasn’t for me. Instead I found myself in London in the world of media publishing, where I worked with clients on their advertisements and campaigns. When I moved back to Newbury, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find work as part of a creative team, but it turns out the perfect place was five minutes from my doorstep (although that means I have no excuses for turning up late!).
I like to nurture strong relationships with my clients. I want the people I work with to know that I have their best interests at heart, as once we have that trust, we can really start to produce work that pushes the boat out creatively and brings it back full to the brim with ROI. Thankfully, MAXX shares my philosophy, and Account Guru Jen has taken me under her capable wing and is showing me how and why clients love working with us.
When I have free time, I like to spend it in a pretty nerdy way. There’s nothing I love more than sinking my teeth into a really good TV series. I struggle to pick a favourite, but hold a gun to my head and I’d have to go with The Sopranos (appropriate idiom). And yes, of course, I’ve seen all of Mad Men. I do get called weird because I like to take it a step further after I watch a series and read about the behind-the-scenes writing/acting that goes into creating it, but I’ve learned to live with the teasing. When I decide to be more active, I’m a huge boxing fan and love doing the training and watching world champs in the ring… but you couldn’t get me to go anywhere near one!
That about sums me up. I’m kind of like a very poor man’s Sylvester Stallone, if you take away the muscles and the Oscars. I’m also very friendly, so if you’re thinking about getting in touch to see what we can do for you, please don’t hesitate; I can’t wait to chat with you. I get the feeling that something really special is taking place at MAXX right now, and I’m very excited and honoured to be a part of it.
