Dermot's Latest Artwork
If you haven’t met Dermot yet, let me introduce him. Originally trained as a graphic designer, Dermot is the founder and MD of MAXX and has worked within the design industry for over 40 years.
Dermot, needless to say, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the company (not to mention entertainment!) and is very passionate about everything to do with MAXX and the success and growth of the business.
Having recently reduced his working time to 3 days a week, we wondered what he got up to on the other days?
All was revealed when he came into the office one day with a fantastic, portrait style painting of Lady Gaga, which captures a side view of her face and had a vibrant splash of colour.
From that day, we have been treated to an assortment of famous faces, from Al Pacino and Bill Nighy to Albert Einstein and Andy Warhol. Many of which displayed on the ground floor of the MAXX office. I fell in love with another of Dermot’s Lady Gaga paintings and to my amazement he gave it to me as a house warming present!
The style of Dermot’s painting has evolved considerably over the last year and a half, and I’d arguably say that they have got better and better! He has even expanded his range into wildlife paintings.
Dermot has been selected as a credited artist in the 2018 West Berks Open Studios scheme and is happy for people to pop down to the MAXX office to come and see this work for themselves. He is also happy to discuss commissions if there is a particular family shot or favourite hero you want, just get in touch.
Dermot has just been invited to take part in an art exhibition in Newbury Library in 2018. The space is enormous and he’s thinking of painting a whale, shark or herd of rhinos!!
