MAXX: An agency I’m proud to work for
Corporate Social Responsibility is at the very core of MAXX. As an active member of the West Berkshire community, I am proud to work for an agency that actively supports local charities and sees great value in encouraging happiness in the workplace.
Printed on the walls entering the MAXX offices are ‘be creative, be honest, be bold, be happy, be MAXX’. Happiness and creativity are instilled within the offices of this design and communication agency; it is evident in the individuals and in the workspace. MAXX aims to create a positive working environment for staff and, wherever possible, our community partners. We have recently been awarded a silver status award in recognition of our contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility with CSR Accreditation. It’s a really important certification that shows we are a business that actively sets out to have a positive impact on society.
We also work for many not-for-profit organisations including SANE, Breast Cancer Now and Hft, and are proud to offer a reduced rate. Examples include The Rosemary Appeal where we worked to create the name, visual identity, website and collateral for the Appeal which went on to raise £5.5 million to open a Cancer Care and Renal Dialysis Unit in Newbury in February this year. Now the Unit has opened, we support Newbury Cancer Care with pro bono social media work. Furthermore, MAXX also hosted a Murder Mystery Evening (press cutting supplied) that raised £28,000 towards the Appeal (with match funding).
Over the past year, we have also provided in-kind support for Time to Talk, supporting young people struggling with mental health challenges, Home Start who support local families who might be struggling and Starting Point which helps young people get on the employment ladder. Starting Point has been able to secure significant seed funding as a result of the higher profile that we have delivered.
“Doing good” has long been at the very core of the business. Equally, many of our members of staff are involved in good works. For example, our Senior Account Manager is a Trustee on the Board of Newbury Cancer Care. One of our Directors was involved in Young Enterprise for several years and acted as an Advisor to local schools. Our Junior Account Executive recently returned from Cambodia where she supervised a team of Health Promotion students teaching in rural schools. Our Client Development Manager works with a charity called kicking off (www.kickingoff.org) and our MD pays for two children’s education in Nepal.
The MAXX team are encouraged to be happy, creative and bold in every aspect of their job and are supported by the rest of the team in their career development, design/marketing work and out of office achievements. Winning several awards for Corporate Social Responsibility and being part of such an active, friendly and “do good” team is one of the many reasons I am proud to work for MAXX.
