10 years of networking and still standing!
(Or in fact, sitting down for a hearty breakfast!)
By Catherine Jenkins
Last week, I had the absolute pleasure of partying with a great group of people on the banks of the River Thames at Bray. We were celebrating 10 years since The Business Forum was launched – a networking group that for the first 8 years of its life met monthly at Wellington College.
Each month we have been treated to inspirational speakers and words of wisdom from amongst our own members and further afield. Over the years, MAXX has benefited from the sound business knowledge and advice of some seriously sound business minds and looking back, I know that many of the key decisions that we have taken to grow the business have come either directly, or indirectly from people I have met through this excellent networking group.
I am proud to be one of the members who joined in the first year of the Forum and is still attending regularly today. Over the years we have shared sad times, including the tragic passing of one of our wittiest and best loved members, Stephen Green of Greenfisher – and happy times such as the marriage of our Founder, Sue to fellow member, Bill Dormer.
Many of the members I now consider mentors and friends and I’m looking forward to another 10 years of learning and laughing!
