Marketing Seminar for Schools
MAXX and one of MAXX's clients, GEMS Sherfield School (www.sherfieldschool.co.uk) ran a breakfast seminar a while ago for independent schools, exploring how schools can profit from good solid design and marketing.
Very well attended by Head teachers and staff responsible for marketing in schools from Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey, the seminar talked about the importance of consistent branding throughout all marketing materials and how a website can support a school in its mission to raise its profile and attract new pupils.
Independent prep schools were reported to be closing or merging at a rate of 1 per week at the beginning of the recent recession, so good promotion is vital to maintain or extend the school numbers. The seminar, which was free of charge, prompted some good discussion and everyone left with ideas to implement in their own school (and a full stomach!)
